Hockey player Aidan Lefèvre’s professional and personal life is on ice. This is a standalone m/m sports romance.
When Aiden is traded to a new team and an accident results
after a move he made to another player, he seeks a night away from his worries and
try to fit in with the other players. Therefore he accepts an invite to the
team get together at the local bar. Christophe, the captain tries to ease Aidan
out of his shell. As an openly gay man, he sees no problem in making a move on
Aidan when he feels the attraction between them. Imagine his surprise to find
that Aidan is not gay and his past relationships have always been with women.
What Aidan cannot deny is that he too feels the compelling attraction to his captain
and starts to question his past.
What I really liked about this was that Aidan did not put
himself in a box or label himself. He came to the conclusion that he would
be open to the possibility to a relationship with a man. I wouldn’t therefore
say it was a gay for you type of read.
I loved the interaction between the two men and the
chemistry was scorching hot. There was a little angst but it wasn’t overdone. I
don’t know much about hockey but it made me want to go watch a game and check
out the players!
Overall an enjoyable relatively quick read and I shall look
out for other books by this author. Four stars.
