Synopsis
An independent woman, a controlling man, and one wild one-night stand…

Kat Kennedy moved to the rugged coast of Maine to start a new life, but encountered much more than she bargained for in dark, dangerous, and seductive Lane Wild.

Desire and temptation smolder before she succumbs to her darkest fantasies with the captivating stranger. She doesn't expect to see him again after an explosive one-night stand leaves her breathless and craving more, but just like lightning in the darkness, he shows up in her life at the most unpredictable moments.

A sensual game of cat and mouse ensues before the attraction between them reaches a fever pitch—the magnetism combustible, the sexual tension nearly unbearable—and Kat finally abandons inhibition and explores the cunning, selfish, and sexual side of a world she's never known.

They have the perfect non-relationship—passion-fueled nights with no strings attached—until life gets real and the past and present collide in a dangerous storm of lust and obsession.

Review
My Rating = 4 WILD stars!

*ARC provided by the author in exchange for my honest review.

WILD. Yes this was absolutely wild. I read this book whilst in the throes of an epic storm thrashing about outside my window but inside my kindle there was an even wilder ride – Lane Wild! Just the very mention of this man’s name now has me tingling in my nether regions. He was total kick-ass alpha. Yes ALPHA!

Wild didn’t do relationships but he did women, anytime, anywhere, anyhow. Yes he was a slut and proud of it. No woman was ever going to tie him down with all that relationship shit, he took what he needed and no more. But then that night in the local bar he saw the newcomer – the red headed beauty who flicked the flirts on him so it was inevitable they would end up close and personal by the end of the night. Oh and what a sex fest of a night that was. A great one night stand that wouldn’t be repeated but then he couldn’t get her out of his head (either of them) so if she became a two night stand then so be it. Little did the alpha hot shot know what he was in for.

Kat was running away from her past and running to safety which brought her to the little coastal town in Maine and the tiny run down cottage she got dirt cheap. When the furnace conks out she finds out why it was dirt cheap. Her trip to the hardware store brings her face to face with her one night sexy stand but one look at him again and she knows she’s a goner. This man is a walking sex advert.

I loved everything about this book! The characters were off the charts – he was mega alpha and she was kick ass. The storyline was fantastic and the erotica ….well that was absolutely steaming and sizzling hot. This book had every nuance of an epic five star read BUT….and I can’t believe I am typing this…but there was….TOO MUCH SEX! The first, I’d say 60% of the book is all erotic interludes with no deep development of a relationship, although they were both coming to terms with understanding they needed each other but they communicated through sex, no discussion of where they came from, their past, their make-up, just SEX and what they wanted from the sex, what they got from the sex, when they were next having sex. We had the classic pet name which in this case was Sugar. Now I like a good pet name, it makes for a gushy, warm feeling of ‘aww he’s so manly but he’s showing his sweet by calling her that’ but he said it ALL THE TIME. Stop it! Just calm the eff down and pull back on that overuse.

The final 35-40% was brilliant! The plotline became evident, we understood why Kat was cagey, why Wild was elusive and all about their histories. There was also an amazing curveball thrown in (WTF!) which lead to an even further epic ending.

After reading this all I wanted to do was take all the amazingness that was intrepid throughout the book, put it in a container, shake it up and spread the equilibrium across the book. It would have then been a FIVE STAR PLUS read for me. I loved everything about it except the flow. So only on that point I give this a four star but it pains me to do so as I LOVED THIS BOOK!  Goddam it I did. Oh and Wild? He’s my new BB. Rawr!
