Five years ago, Embry Jacobs ran...
She ran from a past that still hasn’t let her go, but her dream of becoming a lawyer is stronger than her fear of confronting that past. Embry’s sole focus is to get through law school—with the help of her best friend, Morgan—and make something of the broken girl she became. Not thinking about falling in love, being in a relationship or even entertaining the idea of romance, Embry is moving forward one day at a time.
Luke Brody is charming and sexy, and has a past of his own. He wants nothing more than to put his demons to rest and move on with his life. But, when Embry enters the picture, is he destined to repeat those same mistakes?
Blindsided by their instant attraction, neither Luke nor Embry are prepared for the feelings they’re developing. But will it all be for nothing?
Will they let their pasts destroy them, or will they risk everything to fight for their relationship when it all comes undone?

This is the debut novel by RE Hunter and the first book in
the Disclosure series.
Moving on from an abusive relationship, Embry Jacobs is back
in New York attending law school with her best friend Morgan. It’s here she literally
bumps into a gorgeous man in the halls, with an intensity that overwhelms her
but fate was definitely sending her a message that day.
Luke Brody is also making a fresh start from his hometown in
Georgia and from his first contact with Embry he cannot help but pursue her.
From the initial tentative steps they take, a relationship begins to blossom
but then something happens that has the power to blow all they have built away.
This was a little slow for me at first and I have never
understood the ‘conduct’ issue that I have read in similar storylines, I can’t
really explain without divulging a spoiler in the story but why would it matter
seeing as she is twenty-five and he is thirty-one? Hmm anyhow I liked the
storyline as it gradually took up pace until I was hit with the ending – cliffy
time! Aggh. Now I know cliff-hangers can be a good thing but when I am reading
a book with one I need the next book immediately, but with this one I’m just
going to have to wait for Unbroken (expected release date is August 2014)
A good start to a new series with likable characters,
especially Morgan who was a good comedy aspect to the book. I liked the mystery
surrounding some of the characters which gave the read a little more depth,
especially Jer – yes more to be said about him me thinks.
Overall a good read and although not an original plotline it
was well executed and gave it that slightly different angle in order to entice
the reader. I shall look forward to this developing further as the series
continues.
R.E. Hunter is a native New Yorker and lives on Long Island with her husband and their crazy kitten. She works as an attorney by day and writes every spare second she has. She’s currently working on the sequel to Undone, which will be released sometime in 2014. When she’s not writing, you can usually find her somewhere near a beach with a book in her hand.
