This is the continuation of the epic love story that is
Ethan and Cassie. The first book, Bad Romeo, ended with that amazing email of ‘I
Love You’ multiplied by a thousand, that for me was one of the most romantic
cliffhangers I had ever come across. Having loved every page of the first book
I knew this one had a lot to live up to. I needn’t have worried as it continued
to captivate and consume me throughout.
The present day is now years in the future where Cassie and
Ethan are cast as opposites on the Broadway stage. However now it seems the
tables have turned for it is Ethan in pursuit of Cassie, whilst she is guarding
her heart. After all they have been here twice before, so can she let him crush
her again for the third time?
This time though Ethan is different, I won’t divulge the
reasons why but suffice to say he has seen the light (with a little help) and
realises that what they had/have is the legend of all love affairs, they are ‘it’
for each other and they deserve to reach that ultimate happy ending, their
souls finally joined.
Oh I so loved, loved this conclusion to their story. Ethan
as always had me spellbound with his dark and sultry charisma but this time I
could feel how much lighter he was and ready to let go and accept their fate.
He was no longer afraid of his past insecurities and his fear of abandonment,
now was the time to move forward with the woman he loves.
Cassie also now a little older, a little wiser is moving
cautiously ahead. Yes she knows Ethan is the love of her life but she won’t let
him have the power to hurt her anymore and it is now her who has to overcome
her feelings of mistrust with her heart. But I was glad to see we didn’t have
pages and pages of angst ridden plot to go through, as it was pleasantly
revealed and we got to see how the couple evolved to their new found status of
love and acceptance.
The book is written in the same format of intertwining the
past with the present, with the reader able to observe how things that happened
in the past have the impact of what is happening in the future. At one stage in
the middle I did wonder if the format did need to change and remain in the
present so we could fully concentrate of the present day Ethan and Cassie.
However there were still lots to learn of the past and what had happened whilst
they were apart plus the angst and heartache that had transpired.
The chemistry and passion between the pairing was all
engrossing for the reader and I for one was worried my kindle would melt! The
steamy storyline was an erotic feast I could not get enough of! I was so involved I just did not want the
story to end, in fact when I reached that wondrous ending, I was left bereft as
I didn’t want to leave them behind.
This is an absolute must read which I highly recommend to
the new reader. It is a passionate story of love lost and love regained that
will have you swooning and engrossed. Five fabulous stars.
