Chance of a Lifetime is a story of a woman finding herself again after her marriage breaks down and her then chance at happiness with a younger man.
After finding her husband in the throes of passion in their bed with another woman, Brooke is shocked to the core but even more shocking was for her husband to reveal he was in love with his mistress and was kicking Brooke out of her own home.
With nothing holding her back, not even her grown children, Brooke takes off and leaves town heading in no direction but ending up in Florida. Here she meets a young waiter in the restaurant she takes her first meal at and ends up becoming more that just acquaintances.
Chance helps out in the restaurant in between his duties with the US Coast Guard. His role as a bounty hunter takes him into unknown dangers but one look at Brooke has him yearning for unknown pleasures of the heart.
This was a sweet and engaging romance. There was added drama which at times was a little over the top and I would have prefered that the romance between a woman and a younger man was kept at its simplicity. I think the romance itself was sufficient to keep the storyline flowing. The passion scenes were nice and steamy too! It was an enjoyable romantic read. Three and a half stars.
