Kai
There is nothing I care about.
No attachments.
No connections.
Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman.
Until my target sees my knife.
I fear nothing, not even death.
In my world, death is considered a privilege.
But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and
when I met her, I should’ve walked away.
I didn’t.
I was too selfish.
And that sealed her fate.
Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin.
London
We all have unique layers that make up who we are.
What makes us vulnerable or strong.
What we fear and what excites us.
But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed.
They did that to me.
Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned.
I merely existed.
But there was one layer they overlooked.
The most important of them all—the tie to one man.
The man responsible for me being this way.
The man who found me.
And the killer who would do anything to protect me.
Perfect Ruin is the dark erotic story of Kai and London.
Their beginning.
And the continuing story of Vault.
Must be read in order:
Perfect Chaos (Unyielding, #1) Deck and Georgie
Perfect Ruin (Unyielding, #2) Kai and London
Perfect Rage (Unyielding, #3) Connor’s story

This is the second book in the Unyielding series and this is
Kai and London’s story, however they both first appeared in Torn from You (Tear
Asunder book one).
Kai has always been a bit of an enigma in the series, a
somewhat secondary dark character but a lethal killer with his knife. I was
intrigued as to how the author could turn this around to make Kai become a
likeable but believable character based on his previous entries in the books.
She also had her work cut out with Raven (aka London) who I was not liking
after thinking she lead Alphonso to capture Emily and Georgie.
Kai is part of the Vault, a secret organisation of trained
killers lead by his evil Mother. He had been watching London for a while but he
comes face to face with her when she offers him a deal to save her father from
the Vault. It is this one crucial week that turns everything around for Kai and
the thaw of his iced feelings he was trained never to have.
This was a very complex and interlinking storyline from the
previous book and Tear Asunder series. I would therefore suggest reading that
series first (especially Torn from You) as this really helped me get to grips
with who was who and how they were linked. The romance is extremely dark and in
parts violent but in other parts extremely uplifting. To know how much these
two had gone through yet were able to pull through that whilst understanding
their own new dynamic for each other was spellbinding.
Kai was a dynamic and ultra sexy man with his darkness but
pure scintillating passion oozed from him. How could London not pull herself
out of her lost shell (aka Raven) when she had this man to stand up and fight
for her and at the same time give his all to her? London was also a winner in
how she kept her inner strength even when all hope was lost and she thought Kai
had abandoned her to remain in the dark she found herself in.
This really is a book that pulls you into its dark and evil
world but also gives you the tingles of the passion between Kai and London.
Although I loved the first book (Deck – yay!) more this was still a brilliant
addition to the series. Nashoda Rose really is a talented writer and the
storylines she creates are very deep, complex but oh so rewarding to be
engrossed in. Definitely recommend you hook yourself in this series. Four and a
half stars.
