A new standalone from one of my favourite authors, Katy
Evans, Racer is linked as a new generation of her Real series.
Racer Tate is the son of the famous fighter Remington Tate
but Racer’s passion lies firmly in his most appropriate name, car racing. But
it is the illegal car racing that has given him his infamous reputation as the
expert in what he does. The women are attracted to this highly attractive young
man but not only for his look but his prowess, especially what he can do with a
powerful motor in his control.
Lana is the only female in her family of her father and
brothers since her mother took off when she was young. She travels the world with
her family and their motor racing sport business. Being down on their luck with
finding a new driver, Lana takes it upon herself to make this happen for her
family, especially since her father might not be with them for much longer. She
wants to find a winner so her father can end his days with his dream of owning
a winning team of the Formula One circuit. It’s through her searches that
brings her into contact with a sexy man at a try out track. There is just something
about him that draws her like no other has, even her lost young love David.
When he writes the name Racer Tate as the best driver on her papers, she doesn’t
realise the significance of all that will transpire for her family, but
especially her and Racer.
I didn’t realise when I started reading this that Racer
would turn out to be Remy’s son. It was also fabulous to catch up with Remy
again. Still hot as F even as an older man. This story however is all about
Racer and Lana and the entangled web of lust, passion and a whole lot of soul
searching they go through. I’m usually cautious of new adult romance as
sometimes I just find it too angsty for my personal taste but I can easily say
I didn’t find it here with Remy. There were times with Lana I was wondering
what all her hesitancy was all about and yes I got about her experience with loss
from the past but sometime I just wanted to yell at her to just go for it.
Remy was an instant hit with his sense of danger and his
sizzling sex appeal. I loved even more how he coped with his demon he inherited
from his Dad. How could he be cute and adorable as well as being a hot, hard
alpha arrogant sexy man? It was delightful to see transpire. Lana took me a little
bit more time to warm to but I was soon rooting for this pair to reach a HEA.
Overall another hit from Katy Evans and I definitely recommend
this to others, even if you haven’t read any of the books from the Remy series.

Excerpt
I’m still reeling. While people approach him, he cuts a path straight to me, his gaze penetrating and target-like; making me want to bolt.
His lips do that little upward tilt they do that seems so sexy, and for a second, I feel like I’m lightheaded.
I gulp, and then feel mad at myself for acting like some idiot as fucking devil-Racer Tate reaches me, throws himself into a seat next to me, and turns to look at me expectantly with the most gorgeous grin on his face.
I don’t know what to say.
This guy has left me sort of speechless.
“So … ” I say, staring in the distance at his beat-up mustang, then at him.
“So … ” he says too, in his deep voice, his smile a little more wicked than it was two seconds ago. He glances at my mouth.
