Blurb

Two stubborn men.

One is a rude jerk. The other, the life of the party.

It was hate at first sight.

Pro beach volleyball players Finn Callahan and Dexter Savage have been rivals since college. While Finn always comes out on top on the court, Dexter’s carefree and fun-loving personality earns him scores of adoring men and women. And as much as Finn fights to deny it, there’s another reason for the tension he feels when Dex is around. Hate wasn’t the only thing he felt when he first laid eyes on his opponent.

When they’re forced to team up, the two men must bury their differences—on and off the court—if either of them is going to succeed professionally.

Review
This first book in a new m/m sports romance series, Sports of the Seasons, Match Point is the story of the love and hate relationship between Dexter and Finn.

Dexter Savage is the PR guy’s dream star of the volleyball circuit. He is a happy go lucky kind of guy who has everyone eating of his hand. That is except for Finn Callahan, one half of the number one volleyball team. The pair have been bitter rivals ever since college and keep a wide berth from each other, never mixing in company or parties. But then something life changing happens that brings both men into close proximity and the hate of the past is gradually worn away to divulge new feelings and new beginnings. Well that is when they both get their act together and stop with the back and forth dance of antagonism and angst filled confrontations.

This was a new sport for me to read about in a romance so it was a welcomed change to the usual football/baseball offerings. The gradual build-up of tension and chemistry between Dex and Finn was tantalising and hot, even when they were making ridiculous arguments between each other. I did find the back and forth a little overly repetitive but by the time the HEA was upon us, the insight into their pasts and reason for their behaviours kind of excused it.

I loved the idea of enemies becoming lovers and more and I was very engaged with the whole storyline from start to finish. I have read other works by this author under another pen name so I knew it would be an enjoyable read. It certainly was and one I would recommend. Four stars.
