Title: Biker's Librarian
Series: Lords of Mayhem
Author: Shyla Colt
Genre: MC Romance

Release Date: 2 March 2017

Recovered from an abusive relationship, Juliette Moore is ready to live life on her own terms. Successful, intelligent, and slightly timid, she makes a pact with her best friends to seize the day. She gets more than she bargained in the tall, dark, and dangerous biker Shooter.

Drawn to her purity and charm, Shooter, finds himself smitten before he knows what’s happening. With his claim firmly placed, he’s ready to go to war when she’s threatened by a madman from her past. Together they weather life’s storms and find common ground as they merge their two very different worlds.

This is the first book in the Lords Of Mayhem series and published by Hot Ink Press in March 2017. I’m not sure what has been updated from the Ellora’s Cave published issue from 2015.

A tale of opposites attract with the good girl librarian and the bad boy biker, Juliette and Shooter were a sweet but sexy pair to read about. They meet at a bar where Juliette is trying to have fun and forget about her hateful ex Peter. She can’t believe that the sexy biker is interested in her whereas Shooter can’t take his eyes of the classy sexy woman. The story then unfolds of their relationship build and steamy interludes.

I liked this book but there were quite a lot of gaps and things that I would have thought important to cover were overlooked. Then there was the issue of the ex showing up right near the end. The bit of drama that this brought to the backstory was quickly resolved which made it a bit of an unnecessary addition. His quick demise was also just a one liner.

When Juliette and Shooter leave town for a month so, this was a great chance for a two header to be brought forth and be able for the reader to connect deeply with the characters, this again was a quick couple of pages, so a bit flat for me. The conclusion to Shooter’s family drama which had been established at the beginning of the book was rushed to a redemption at the end. Again there was so much more that could have been included regarding this throughout the book.

Overall this was a quick sexy read, with little angst or drama and nothing much about the MC lifestyle. It had lots of potential but didn’t take up the challenge and therefore is a three star read for me.

Shyla Colt grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, but has lived a variety of different places thanks to her wanderlust, interesting careers, and marriage to a United States Marine. She's always loved books and wrote her very first novel at the age of fifteen. She keeps a copy of her first submission letter on her desk for inspiration.

After a lifetime of traveling, she settled down and knew her time had come to write. Diving into her new career like she does everything else, with enthusiasm, research and a lot of prayers, she had her first book published in June of 2011. As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there's never a dull moment in her household.

She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company. A self-professed rebel with a pen. Her goal is to diversify romance as she continues to genre hop, and offer up strong female characters.
