  BLINDSIDED
SoCal natives, Nate and Cody have been friends since childhood. Both knew they were different—and the same. At seventeen, a stolen weekend in the Florida Keys drove their connection deeper and hotter than either could imagine. They were meant to be together. Then, for reasons only Nate knows, suddenly they weren’t.
They’re still friends. Best friends. But they’ve moved on and found other partners. The yearning remains, however, despite the long-ago secret that drove them apart, when tragedy strikes, both men find themselves in the dark. They must grope their way back to who and what they are…which they will find in each other’s arms. Sometimes, losing one’s sight can open one’s eyes—and heart.

Sight Unseen is based on an idea from LA producer and actor, Nicholas Downs.
Susan and Nicholas have developed a story straight from the heart.

In a gripping tale of lovers fighting against the odds, comes a story of universal appeal about rejection and acceptance and finally finding what is real and true.

Note from the author (lol) This book has sexy times but not as many as my usual books. I’m telling you now in case this makes a difference to you as to whether you buy the book. I’m trying to avoid getting reviews about how crap this book was because there wasn’t that much sex and it’s supposed to be a romance  #JustSaying #FairWarning

This is a relationship love story about overcoming adversity, and it’s a slow burning one……

Review
Sight Unseen is a fabulous friends to lovers romance that had me enraptured from the first page. I think this is hands down my most favourite book of Susan Mac Nicol.

Nate and Cody have been best friends since childhood and they are as close as close can be. When Nate is involved in a life altering accident, Cody rushes to be by his side. It becomes apparent that Nate’s boyfriend is looking for an out to go back to his ex, after all he didn’t sign up to be a carer especially when it interferes with his modelling life. Good job that Cody is ready to step in and help his lifelong friend. With the closer proximity and Nate’s initial dependency on Cody, will this open the door to the feelings they have both been suppressing since they were seventeen?

I absolutely loved this book and the way the lifelong friends become so much more. There was oodles of passion and chemistry between the pair, although it wasn’t all about the sex as this was kept low key but it was where the reader's mind was taken that made it so much more than an erotic read would have for these characters. The tension was sizzling and tangible throughout. The storyline was so emotional especially how Nate went through his coping with becoming blind and his despair at not being able to do his award winning sculpturing anymore. But it was Cody’s support and determination to build Nate’s confidence back up that was a joy to see transpire and the impact it had on them both. There were points I was shouting at each of them ‘Just tell him how you really feel!’ throughout. I was so invested in seeing them find that happy ever after together. When they eventually did take a chance it was so unbelievingly heart-warming and set forth a whirlwind of emotions.

This is a definite must read and I highly recommend this compelling but heart felt romance of two gorgeous best friends becoming the love of each other’s life. Amazingly good. Five stars.

Meet The Author

Susan Mac Nicol is a self confessed bookaholic, an avid watcher of videos of sexy pole dancing men, self confessed geek and nerd and in love with her Smartphone. This little treasure is called ‘the boyfriend’ by her long suffering husband, who says if it vibrated, there’d be no need for him. Susan hasn’t had the heart to tell him there’s an app for that…

She is never happier than when sitting in the confines of her living room/study/on a cold station platform scribbling down words and making two men fall in love. She is a romantic at heart and believes that everything happens (for the most part) for a reason. She likes to think of herself as a ‘half full’ kinda gal, although sometimes that philosophy is sorely tested.

Lover of walks in the forest, theatre productions, dabbling her toes in the cold North Sea and the vibrant city of London where you can experience all four seasons in a day , she is a hater of pantomime (so please don’t tar and feather her), duplicitous people, bigotry and self righteous idiots.

In an ideal world, Susan Mac Nicol would be Queen of England and banish all the bad people to the Never Never Lands of Wherever -Who Cares. As that’s never going to happen, she contents herself with writing her HEA stories and pretending, that just for a little while, good things happen to good people.
