Dax Marshall is six foot four of hard muscle and raw animal magnetism.
As president of the Southside Skulls Outlaw Biker Club, he’s had his share of women, but never one who meant more to him than his Harley or the brotherhood.
That was before she walked into the Spirits Bar and told him her name—Angel.
Angel Brady went searching for something she would only find by hiding who she really was.
But she found much more than she was looking for, and now her secret stands between her and what matters most.
Can Dax and Angel overcome the other dangers lurking in the shadows that threaten everything they live for?
Secrets that even Angel never knew.
This is the first book in the Southside Skulls MC Series.
This is a Standalone HEA Romance Novel and No cliffhangers. Intended for Mature Readers.
Dax is the first book in the Southside Skulls MC series.
Going undercover to infiltrate the Southside Skulls MC,
Angel Brady knows this is her chance to prove herself to her force. Being that
two of her brothers and her father are on the same force is also a hindrance to
her progress. As soon as she steps into the downtown bar and see Dax for the
first time she knows this is going to be a challenge.
Dax is the president of the MC ever since his father, Doc’s,
death. Trying to steer the MC into another more legal path is hard, especially with
the conflict with a rival MC and issues from the past coming rushing into the
present. His extreme dislike for Hawk, his father’s one time best friend, and now his rival, is
one thing that is keeping him focused on alienating Hawk and his men. When a
contact keeps passing jobs to both of them then things start to unravel at a
heady pace. Throw into the mix the new object of his desires, Angel, and everything is giving Dax a whole lot of complexities in his life.
Angel is finding her growing attraction and intensity
towards Dax is impacting on her role in getting information from the MC to her
employers. With her brother and her boyfriend Micah being privy to all that is
going on, makes for a difficult task. The more involved Angel gets the more she
is thinking that maybe this would be taking her to a another level in her
life plan.
This was a complex storyline with lots of twists and turns
being thrown in. There was an element of mystery and drama, especially on
finding the mysterious ‘Dan’ who seemed to hold the key to resolving what was
going on. However there were too many hints that gave away his identity to me
fairly early on. I was also unclear on how the relationship (and a hot one at
that) between Dax and Angel could carry on, especially once he learned her true
identity.
The ending was a little rushed for me and I did feel there
needed to be much more soul searching and anger on page rather than off page as
it was explained in a retrospect explanation.
Overall though this was an engaging read and I liked it was
a little different to other MC reads. I loved both Angel and Dax and I liked
the chemistry and interaction between them. If they had been a better
resolution (well more in the way we got the HEA) then this would have been a 5
star read but overall I would say this is a 3.5 – 4 star read. I look forward to the
next book so hopefully we get to find out more about the rest of the MC.
