“HE LOVES LONG, LOVES HARD, BUT HE DOESN’T LOVE EASY.”
Katrina Vega is set on one thing: finishing college. She’s determined not to let anything or anyone distract her, especially not hot brooding bikers. On her mission to stay focused, she doesn’t expect to be pulled into the fold of a motorcycle club, let alone into the arms of Alec "Mute" Stillwater.
Unable to keep her guard up, Katrina soon discovers that beneath the hard and rough exterior of a family she’s grown to care for, there’s also loyalty and passion she’s envious of. But falling for the club’s enforcer will not only threaten her plans but quite possibly her life.
What a fabulous start to a new MC series, The Dragon Runners.
I completely fell for this family of brothers and their old ladies. The world
building was exemplary and it drew me in from the start.
Kat is struggling to make ends meet whilst she is completing
her nurse training. So when she is offered a job at a local biker’s bar,
although she has some misgivings, she takes a chance. From the start she is
made to feel welcome and the MC the bar belongs to take her under their wing.
One person in particular who has taken it upon himself to be her main protector
is Mute.
Mute has been with the MC for a long time and they have
become his family. After suffering a brutal attack when he was eighteen, Mute
no longer has a voice but he has no problem communicating his words with actions.
One person who seems to understand him most though is the new girl at the bar,
Kat. He feels a connection to her but after he last let his heart free it ended
up disastrous so he will never go there again. Only trouble is Kat is not so
easy to push aside or keep out of his thoughts.
Although the romance was an initial slow burn it was also
gripping. The story building was intense but without the need for surly angst
and drama for drama sake. Everything just flowed and the characters were strong
and believable.
The attraction and intensity between Kat and Mute was
tangible and heart thumping. I loved the slow dance of will they and won’t
they, that kept the tension climbing. Once the two get together though it was
explosive.
I loved the interaction between the brothers and the old
ladies. Old Mackie was a sweetheart and easy to fall in love with.
I cannot
recommend this book enough and this author and series is firmly on my must read
list. If you love your MC reads a little bit gritty, a lit bit dirty but a
whole lot of brotherly love with a scorching romance, then this is definitely
for you. Five Stars!

I've had stories in my head since I was a child. All sorts of stories of fantasy, romance, mystery and anything else that captured my interest. I'm a voracious reader, and have spent many hours in my life devouring books, therefore it's only fitting I should write a few myself!
I've spent most of my life as a performing musician and band instrument repair technician, but that doesn't mean I'm pigeon-holed into one mold. I've been a university professor, belly dancer, craftsperson, soap maker, singer, rock band artist, jewelry maker, lifeguard, swim coach, and whatever else I feel like exploring. As one of my students said to me once, "Life's too short to ignore the opportunities." I have no intention of ever stopping so welcome to my story world. I hope you enjoy it!
