Kit Carlyle is the host of the show and is recovering from the loss of her best friend and cousin. In her real life Kit is a little shyer and hesitant that her go getting cousin who has always pushed her to be more. Kit is therefore challenged when she is left with a bucket list to complete. Turning to her co-host and friend Kane, he agrees to help her with her missions. However some things on the list will be a challenge and perhaps more to them both in more ways than one!
Kane Kaino (not a fan of the name – it sounds like a novelty dog act!) is ex-military and takes no sass from nobody. He has always been a difficult man to get to know and he therefore keeps himself distant from most except when it comes to Kit. He feels as if he is her personal protector but would never cross the lines of friendship. However after the bucket list brings them closer, those feelings they have both been trying to suppress get a little bit murky.
I really liked the connection between Kit and Kane (still not a fan of either name though!) and could understand their hesitancy in being anything more that friends. I therefore liked the slow burn of the relationship change and glad that the authors did not rush this. When the two eventually get together it was explosive and steamy.
Overall a great storyline, with lovable characters and a steamy romance. Four stars.
