GENRE: MC/Biker/Romance

SYNOPSIS

Liam “Hunter” Blake hates the Reapers MC. Born and raised a Devil’s Jack, he knows his duty. He’ll defend his club from their oldest enemies—the Reapers—using whatever weapons he can find. But why use force when the Reapers’ president has a daughter who’s alone and vulnerable? Hunter has wanted her from the minute he saw her, and now he has an excuse to take her.

Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club’s president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger—a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he’s The One.

Or so she thinks

This is the third book in the Reapers MC series and is the story of Em and Hunter. I simply adore this series and this third instalment does not disappoint.
 Not. At. All.

Em is the daughter of Picnic, the president of the Reapers MC and as such she is under so much scrutiny and protection she finds it hard to have any kind of a life without her father knowing of it. As a young woman this is a problem when trying to meet men let alone have a relationship. She felt a connection to Painter, one of the Reapers new brothers but he didn’t have the guts to stand up to her father to ‘claim’ her. Therefore she finds herself going on line and striking up a connection with ‘Liam’ who sounds just perfect for her. Little does she realise who Liam really is.

Hunter is a member of the Devil Jacks and the Reapers have long been enemies with a controlled standoff between the two rival MCs. However things have taken a turn for the worst with a new enemy in camp stirring up trouble for both MCs. When an action taken by a renegade of the Reapers has an impact on the Devils, Hunter makes a move in retribution with dangerous results. This was picked up in book two, Reaper’s Legacy when Em and Sophie were kidnapped by Liam, the lovely guy she had been chatting to online. Yes Liam is one and the same Hunter!

This book cleared up a lot of confusion for me from the kidnapping in book two. It was made clear that something had happened between Em and Hunter in the other bedroom but at that moment in time I didn’t really want to like Hunter so it didn’t sit right with me that Em had done ‘something’ with him.

Oh how wonderful hindsight is! I now totally ‘got’ Hunter and I just fell for him. Hard. (Don’t tell Horse or Ruger though!) He was so rugged and hot and ALPHA. The way he stood up to Picnic and the brothers. He FOUGHT for Em, yes even after all that happens after the kidnapping, he still manned up and gave it his all. He was not losing Em, not after all they had gone through. From the first moment he saw her he knew, she was HIS!

As for Em, she was so kick ass and hilarious. The words that came out of her mouth were awe inspiring. I was totally rooting for her and getting giddy when she was getting jiggy with it! She was totally, totally right for Hunter. She gave him as good as he did her, but when she kicked him in the gonads it had me howling with laughter.

There were plenty of tender moments between the two although it must be said this book was not as erotic as the first two (but maybe that’s just Horse and Ruger being horny asses) However, I loved this pairing and I read through the book in one sitting, I could not be spared from my reading love-in.

It was fabulous that Em’s sister makes an appearance and her re-establishing bonds with her Dad, Picnic was so lovely to read. As for Picnic, whoo-the-blinking-hoo! He’s getting his own book next. I was cheering and grinning like the Cheshire cat when I saw that. I have been waiting and waiting to see if he would. I ADORE Picnic so this is brilliant news. Not brilliant I have to wait until September for him though. Poop.

Again, another triumph for Joanna Wylde with this third instalment of this series. As I keep saying I have long ago patched myself in to the Reapers. I just LOVE this MC world. Love it! An amazing leather cut five star read (again) for me.
