All Fired Up (Sin City Uniforms) by Morticia Knight | M/M Romance | Excerpt Tour

Book: All Fired Up
Series: Sin City Uniforms
Author: Morticia Knight
Publisher: Totally Bound
Cover Artist: Posh Gosh

Blurb
Officer Shawn Everly patrols the Strip and one night, fireman Trent Marshall saves him when danger strikes. But it’s still uncertain whether Trent can save himself from getting his heart broken by Shawn.

The party never ends on the Las Vegas strip but neither does the danger. Officer Everly is new to the beat, having recently relocated to Vegas from Los Angeles. Foot patrol on the Strip is a demanding assignment because he’s up close and personal with the public. But what he’d really like to do is get up close and personal with Station 32’s hunky fireman, Trent Marshall.

Trent has been a fireman for over ten years and is dedicated to his job. He’s built tough and is a no-nonsense man of few words. At a local blood drive, Trent meets the handsome new officer on foot patrol but won’t let himself get too close. He’s lost love before when his policeman lover was killed in the line of fire.

During an emergency, Trent’s over-protective instincts kick in when he believes Shawn is in harm’s way. He ends up embarrassing and angering Shawn in front of their fellow officers, which seems as though it will end any hope of Trent having a chance with the young man he can’t push from his mind. Shawn can’t decide whether he wants to punch or kiss Trent. Kissing wins. Once they spend some time together away from the stresses of their jobs, they find that they’re not just compatible—they’re combustible.

But Trent can’t seem to accept that there are hazards that come with working in law enforcement. Right as they’re discovering how much they mean to one another, the danger escalates on the Strip. The underground vigilante group, The Citizens Against Immorality, have raised the stakes. Will Shawn and Trent be their next targets?

Trent made sure to keep his body angled in a way so that he could keep an eye on Officer Shawn Everly. He didn’t want the cop to catch him gazing in his direction, but he couldn’t stop himself from doing that very thing.
So cute. Dammit.

Their first handshake at the blood drive had almost done him in. There had been an instant zing when their skin had touched. Everything about the officer who had been dressed in a muscle baring T-shirt had appealed to him.

He was sure Shawn was at least thirty—based on his years in the force—however, he appeared younger. Shawn had wavy brown hair that was trimmed in a stylishly short cut. He’d been fascinated by the cop’s intense hazel eyes with gold flecks in them that had seemed to change color as he spoke. His features were angular, his mouth wide and perfect when he smiled. Even though Shawn was shorter, he had a confident and strong presence. Trent had noted that he was very friendly, unassuming—that had been a huge turn on. It was also obvious that Shawn was a man who took care of himself. It had been even more obvious when he’d held Shawn close to him in the water.

Trent coughed into his fist and inclined his head away from the man he hadn’t been able to push from his mind since the first time they’d met. Trent couldn’t even remember how they’d ended up talking at the event, yet he easily recalled how he hadn’t been able to stop caressing the officer with his stare the entire time. He was sure Shawn had noticed. Walking away had been the only answer. He would have been too weak otherwise. It didn’t matter how attracted he was to Shawn, he didn’t need another cop in his life. Never again.

Author Bio
M/M and M/M/F Erotic Romance author Morticia Knight enjoys a good saucy tale – after all, who doesn’t? Since she loves several genres, you may find your heroes in a contemporary, historical, paranormal or sci-fi setting. One of her passions is bringing people's fantasies to life on the page, because life is too short for even one boring moment. Her stories are volcanic in heat, deep in emotion, and sprinkled with doses of humor.

When not indulging in her obsession for books, she loves the outdoors, film and music. The Pacific Northwest is the ideal spot to enjoy both hiking and beachcombing. Once upon a time she was the singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. She now resides on the northern coast of Oregon, where the constant rain and fog remind her of visits to family in England and Scotland when she was a child.

She is currently working on the Sin City Uniforms Series and a BDSM spin-off to the Gin & Jazz series entitled The Hampton Road Club. A follow-up to Bryan and Aubrey’s story in Rockin’ the Alternative will be available in 2015.

SEB TOOK a drink of his beer and set it down again with undue care. “You can’t read, can you?”

“Can.”

“I don’t believe you.”

Dex slid off his stool and shoved his hands into his pockets. He wasn’t sure what he’d expected when Seb had ambushed him, but it wasn’t this. So what if he couldn’t bloody read? It wasn’t like he’d ever been to school to learn.

Seb caught his arm. “Don’t go, Dex. I’m sorry, okay? I won’t tell anyone. I promise.”

Seb’s hand engulfed Dex’s wrist, his touch as charged and heated as it had ever been. Dex felt his resolve melting, ebbing away until it was all he could do to fall back onto the bar stool. “I can read some,” he said mutinously. “I can read numbers, and names. Knew the name of your shop, didn’t I?”

“Can you write?”

“Never tried.” Dex looked down. Lying to Seb felt all wrong. He’d heard the name of Seb’s shop on the street, and the only name he could read was his own.
Seb was silent for a moment, then without warning, Dex felt his fingers brush through his shower-damp hair. “It really is brown. I thought it was just wet.”
Dex fought for the strength to shy away from the soft gesture, but nothing happened. “The bleach grew out.”

“It was dyed?”

“Couldn’t you tell?” Dex had forgotten his brief stint as a blond was all Seb had ever known of him.

“No, not at all. You look totally different now. Not sure I would’ve recognized you without the scowl. You just about shocked the shit of me. I… I thought I’d never see you again.”

True North (Finding Now #3) by Allie Juliette Mousseau | Blog Tour

After a tragic accident that plays on an endless loop in her mind, wild child Kate Jolie died inside. She now functions only through her rigid, ironclad routine, which keeps her mind and soul in check – balancing her in a dangerously precarious position between life and death

Rocker and Master's student Sam North knows no limits and seeks out every challenge to conquer and defy. With his cocky grin, piercings, colorful tattoos, undress-you bedroom eyes and magnetic sex appeal, he has no trouble finding women to warm his bed. When he spies his new professor, the gorgeous Ms. Jolie, she’s just another summit he wants to climb in order to reach its peak. But as he begins to catch glimpses of her soul, she becomes his Everest.

Kate Jolie is the only woman who wants nothing to do with Sam North - and the only woman he can’t do without.

“When I first saw you, you were so stunning I couldn’t think straight,” Sam began.

“When you first saw me you were looking at my ass,” I reminded him.

“Okay, you’re right.” Sam admitted with his hands in surrender. “But in my defense, it is a really fine ass.”

I rolled my eyes and swallowed a flattered laugh.

He continued, “But as the weeks went on, I saw that your intelligence matched your beauty, and Jolie, combined … you left me breathless. I had to get to know you. Then when you got sick behind More Hall, you showed so much strength …”

“Strength? I freaked out and puked all over you.”

“You fell apart and pulled yourself back together again. That took raw guts, Jolie. Trust me, I’ve known a couple people who’ve lived through some nasty things. It takes a hell of a lot of strength to get to the other side of it.”

I worried my bottom lip. He saw me as beautiful and strong?

“I can see the pain behind your eyes and the shadow you’re trying to live with—twenty-six years old with a PhD—you stopped living at some point and became driven. And your clothes—you’re trying to be invisible, which is virtually impossible for you because you have an amazing body.” He cocked an eyebrow at me, and if I had felt any anger at his intuition and bold assessment, it melted. “I want to know you. So, are you going to give our friendship a chance?”

In six years no one had ever done this to me, made me want to come out of the hiding place I’d built. I knew my voice would be pained and small but I spoke anyway.

     “How do we do it?”

I expected his face to light up with his telltale smile, but it didn’t. Instead he became really serious. “No plan, Jolie. We live for each moment, each day. We find now and hold ourselves in that space until we’re ready to make a new one.”

“Okay … Sam. Friends.” I held out my hand to his.

He regarded it for a moment, took it like he was about to shake it, then said, “Ah, what the hell,” and yanked me up against him, putting his arms around me and folding me into a deep hug.

I liked the feel of him very much.

If you are wondering who I am, then I'm here to tell you. Timberlyn is the sweeter alter ego of New York Times bestselling author Nicole Edwards.

I can hear the question now... Why? Why do you have another pen name?

It actually came about when a storyline developed in my head. As I saw it coming together, I knew it was vastly different than what Nicole Edwards writes. So, it was then that I was created.

Anyway... Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad you did.

Excerpt
“Are you ready for part two of this gift?”

My tiger eyed me suspiciously. “And that would be—”

“The fun part. You get to ride me.”

Jen’s face lit up like a little kid about to go on one of those coin-operated mechanical horsey rides. Wasting no time, she tore off my boxers she had on and repositioned herself, straddling my lap with my cock impaled inside her. Gripping her hips, I bucked her hard as she rode me up and down. I hissed. Fuck, yeah! This was good. So fucking good and for both of us. Holding on to my shoulders, she got to control the pace while I got to go as deep and as hard as I could. I repeatedly hit her G-spot with each powerful thrust. She shrieked with pleasure each time I did.

I gazed at her heated face. Her head arched back, she looked so impassioned, and I was mesmerized by the way the dangling earrings I’d just given her shook and shimmered. Quivering as if they were having little orgasms of their own. I was tempted to nibble her lobes but worried in my state of lust I might bite off an earring and swallow it whole.

I gripped her hips tighter as she accelerated her pace. The friction and heat of her rubbing against my thick length felt so fucking amazing.

“Do you like your present?”

“Oh, God, yes!” she panted out. “I’m so close to coming!”

“Good, baby,” I groaned.

On the next deep thrust, she fell apart with a thunderous “Yes” and I could feel her throbbing all around my pulsing cock. Her body shook as I grunted out my own explosive climax and met hers full on. Spent and sweaty, we collapsed onto each other, her arms wrapping around me. We stayed in that position for several sweet minutes as we rode our orgasms out.

Five minutes later, we were nestled side by side, her head resting on my chest. We were almost recovered. Now close to five, the sun had begun its disappearing act and cast a mellow amber glow.

Jen traced lazy, ticklish circles on my chest. “Baby, I’ll never be able to top that birthday present.”

I playfully flicked the tip of her cute upturned nose. “Don’t worry, you will.”

“Do you have something in mind?”

“Yeah, I do.” I was turning the big three-O.

“How ‘bout a hint?”

“I want to wake up to my wife.”

I felt her jolt against me. “What are you saying, Blake?”

“What I’m saying is that I want to marry you on the day before my birthday.”

“December twentieth? Gosh, Blake. That’s only two months away.”

“Jen, we’ve been engaged for over five months and it’s time to set a date. My mother has been driving me crazy.”

Jen giggled. “Mine too. I keep telling her that we’ve just been too busy at work.”

Which was true. Except I’d checked our calendars and had come to the conclusion that Saturday, the twentieth, would be a perfect time to get married. With Christmas around the corner, most of our SIN-TV productions would be shut down and our offices would be closed until January third—giving us an opportunity to go on a two-week honeymoon. I explained all this to Jen. She agreed. It made total sense.

She rolled on top of me and gave me a hot spontaneous kiss. “Oh my God, Blake, we’re really going to get married!” The excitement in her voice was contagious. I smashed my lips against hers. “Yes, you’re going to become Mrs. Blake Burns, and tonight we’re going to break the news to our parents.”

“My mother is going to be so excited!” Jen beamed. “She’s been planning our wedding forever.”

I didn’t know if Jen could feel my heart skip a beat. I quietly gulped. And so had my mother. Instead of letting her know this, I urged her to take a shower with me and get ready for our dinner.

The future Mrs. Blake Burns had another surprise in store.
