This is the second book in the Meant For Each Other series and although I didn’t read the first
book, I don’t think it hindered jumping straight to Andrew and Peter. It can be
read standalone anyway but I will go back and read book one, if only to find
out more of Jeremy, he is such a sweetheart!
Andrew is a man in control and his job as a high flying
executive on Wall Street and his daily gym workouts give him the desired
control. Anything else is off limits, especially relationships after his eight
years with Jeremy left him sucker punched when Jeremy left him for Craig, his
first love. However he has remained good friends with his ex (and his now
boyfriend) and it is through Jeremy that he is set up to meet Peter, the barman
from the local bar. Andrew has met Peter before and although there was a sizzle
moment the pair shared a few years back, nothing became of that due to Andrew
being committed with Jeremy at the time. But now with nothing to hold them back
the pair find themselves questioning their own boundaries when all they really
want is each other.
This story had a great pace and flow that kept me flicking
that kindle button. The chemistry and attraction was easily felt between Andrew
and Peter. I also loved they had normal names! So many times books have the weirdest
and absurd names for the characters that this was a welcome change. The heat
factor was also a winner, absolutely hot, hot, hot!
I liked that they both held a strength that the other needed
such as Andrew needed to lose some control and Peter needed to gain some. It
was good to see that Andrew had learnt from his past errors in his relationship
and that he didn’t try to dominate and mould Peter into something he thought he
should be. Instead he gave him support and encouragement. In return Peter took
strength from this belief in his dreams to own his own bar that nobody had ever
had for him before.
I loved the depth and detailed storyline however I did feel
the last 20% was a little rushed and I would have loved to have more about when
things came right for the guys.
Overall this was a great m/m romance read with a depth of
feeling and a whole lot of loving! Four stars.

D.H. Starr is a product of the 80s who should have grown up in the 60s and wishes he could travel through time to visit the Ancient Romans and Greeks so he could wear togas and be considered in-style. He loves to torment his characters before giving them their happy ending, enjoying the way they struggle and change from beginning to end. On his off-time, he can be found parading naked through the woods, searching for mystical creatures who he swears do exist. Once he finds the portal to their world that will be the last you see of him. His favorite quote comes from the musical Rent, “No day but today” and he loves the song Seasons of Love because its message is so true.
