This is the sixth book in the Alluring Indulgence series
about the fabulous Walker brothers. I guess each book could be read as
standalone although I would not recommend it, you’d miss out on the other hot
brothers if you did! What I love about this series is the different genre and
relationships that the author takes the reader through. This time it is Braydon’s
story, one half of the hot Walker twins.
I must admit I was not as eager in my waiting for the
release of this book as I had the others (especially Ethan!) as the idea of
twins sharing women just didn’t float my boat. However being the fantastic
author that she is, Nicole Edwards took Braydon’s story in an entirely
different direction than I envisaged.
Braydon and Brendon have been inseparable all their lives as
twins often are. Brendon was always seen as the leader of the pair, picking up
the women and taking the front and centre role. Braydon was the quiet and serious
twin, still as sexy and alluring as his brother but happy to stay in the
background. Or so he thought. That was until they meet Jessie.
The twins and Jessie hook up and are having a whole lot of
sexy fun with no strings attached. But then things change and Jessie finds
herself yearning for more but not with both twins, just one – Braydon. Little
does she know Braydon is also having the same dilemma but how can he have
Jessie to himself when Brendon and he have shared everything since forever. How
can he break up the whole dynamic of their lives? Unable to go through with any
more ‘hook ups’ with Jessie and his twin, he leaves town. This is the first
time ever that the twins have been apart and that space seems to be the
catalyst for the change that would come about for them all.
I just loved to read the gradual transformation of both
twins in their time apart and how you would have thought it would be Braydon
struggling with it but in the end Brendon’s actions just threw me. I had always
thought Brendon was the strong one but whoo hoo Braydon really stepped up to
the plate. What a revelation and what a crush I developed on him. Brendon did
however, give me some heart wrenching moments, especially the scene with his
father.
When Braydon comes back home, it was a delightful but also
an angst ridden journey that both he and Jessie take the reader on. At times I
wanted to smack them both up the back of the head and shout ‘Just talk already!’
However the romance and love story that evolved stole my heart. It wasn’t all
hearts and angst though, oh no, this pair had some shockingly hot time between
the sheets or against the wall, over the couch…OK I’ll stop but you get the
drift yes? HOT!
I liked how Nicole set up the scene for the storylines for
the other brothers in the next books, namely Sawyer and Brendon. Both stories have
been simmering in the background for the last few books so it will be
interesting to see how they pan out. The family time is also a winner, as
always, especially the way Lorrie ‘interferes’ like a good mother would. I
would just love to sit at the table with them for the Sunday get together and I
loved how the scene in the epilogue was set. I could so imagine being there.
Another spine tingling (and other parts!) fabulous storyline
with the Walker brothers that both surprised and warmed me. Who knew I would
finally get to like Brendon (he is so darn sweet at times) and the big shocker
of Braydon and his dominance (rawr!) How lucky is Jessie who I also at first
didn’t really understand or like but by the end she had me routing for her big
time. There are lots of past hurts and insecurities to go through but as with
all the storylines in this series, the ending is epic. Wonderful. Five stars!
