Christmas with her boyfriend’s family seems like a lovely idea—until she finds her previous Dom staying for the holidays too.

Kate Baker is nervous about meeting her boyfriend Daniel’s family. When she walks into the family home to find Grant, her former Dom, spending the holidays with them too, her world turns upside down. How can she spend Christmas with the man who shattered her heart and broke her trust in the whole BDSM scene?
Although she had no idea that Grant and Daniel were brothers, Grant revives all those needs that Daniel can’t fulfill. But she won’t give up the man who helped mend her broken heart after Grant shattered it—even if she has to bury the submissive part of herself to do it.

A year ago, Grant Farrell left the woman he loved—and the best sub he’s ever controlled—to tend the family ranch after his father’s death. It almost tore his heart out to leave Kate but he had no other choice. But he doesn’t realize how much it hurt them both until she shows up at his family’s home on his brother’s arm.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of anal sex and double penetration.

What’s in a Cowboy?
Cowboy romances have always have been big in the romance industry, and I understand why. Who doesn’t like a big strong man that can work with his hands? But I’ve never been that interested in writing a cowboy story. Sure, I liked reading them, I enjoy those kinds of guys too, but the stories that filter through my head, usually look a lot more like my own city life than idyllic country courts. I guess I’ve always adhered to that old adage of writing where I knew—though most of what my characters do is nothing like what I know in real life.
But when the idea for Owned for Christmas came to me, Grant walked in right away as a cowboy, complete with rope and a whip. Daniel, was much more like the men I know, the men I normally write about, but Grant wouldn’t adhere to that mold. Which is just another reason why Kate needed both these men, they both offered her such different aspects.
When I sat down to write this story, Grant’s cowboy nature was difficult for me. It wasn’t the lingo or the equipment. After four years in this industry I know more than enough authors that write these types of stories to have many sources I could ask for descriptions of bits and tackles. It was the way he thinks, the way he might react to different situations that was hard for me to predict.
But then I realized, that cowboys and farmers aren’t too far apart. Although I was raised and still live in a city, my grandfather and both great grandfathers were farmers. Dairy farmers to be exact (not that different from the cattle rancher Grant is). My grandfather worked hard, took care of his family, and would always put his woman first. My grandfather might be a man’s man, but he knows how to take care of what matters, and he is always a good man to have in a crisis. Although he moved off the farm years before I was born, my grandfather has always held these traits with him. He might not be a cowboy with a Stetson but he’s a good man. Just like Grant.
After making this connection, I can now understand Grant. How he thinks, the type of man he is, and what’s most important to him. At this realization he opened up to me. He told me all his secrets, all his desperate longings and horrible fears.
Being cowboy isn’t about the horses, or the hat, or even having a really good whip on the ready. Being a cowboy is about strength of character and taking care of those you love. And that is something I can relate to.
I hope you’ll give my new release, Owned for Christmas, a look, which is now available with Totally Bound Publishing. It’s filled with a barn, a few horses, some rope, and one cowboy with a heart of gold, even though he’s got a dark dominant side that makes him use his whips in a few more creative ways then training horses.

Willa Edwards has dreamed about being a writer since she was four years old. When she picked up her first romance novel at fifteen she knew she'd found her place and she's never looked back.
She now lives in New York, where she works with numbers at her Evil Day Job and spends her nights writing red-hot tales of erotic romance. When she's not at her computer, you can usually find her curled up in bed with her two furry babies, her nose pressed to her ereader.
