Synopsis

I don’t remember a time I didn’t love Crenshaw Bennett.

I tried to deny it, but my feelings grew deeper.

I thought he could never love me the way I love him.

I was wrong—outrageously, deliriously, and beautifully wrong.

One innocent kiss changes my life forever.

Suddenly, Shaw is mine.

Loyal, devoted, and the most loving man on this Earth.

Together, we create an explosion of fiery passion, devotion, and chemistry I never knew was possible.

All of my dreams are within reach, but I should have known it was too good to be true.

The past always catches up to you, and I’m left staring at my worst nightmare.

Faced with the unthinkable, I am forced to choose between the man I love and a past I cannot change.

Shaw’s fighting like hell to prove we can have it all, but can I find the strength to be the woman he needs?

Review
Lizbeth ‘Bizzy’ Hastings first sets eyes on Crenshaw ‘Shaw’ Bennett at the age of fourteen and the powerful fizz she felt for him then continued to the present. She forms a tight bond with his younger brother Nick who becomes her very best friend. Along with the other Bennett brother, Mathis, the four become a close knit unit with the brothers being protective of Bizzy.

Fast forward ten years and something happens to change the dynamic between Bizzy and Shaw. They realise this deep trust and friendship has become so much more between them and the chemistry cannot be denied.

This was a very emotional read for me and so much more that what I presumed this story would turn out to be. So initially this was going to be a straight forward ‘friends to lovers’ romance but then boom the jealous ex comes into the picture. My second assumption was shot down. In fact the more involved I got with this storyline it became so much, MUCH more! From the start to the end it was a case of bliss to hiss to KISS. But it was the hiss in the middle part that had me pulling my hair and screaming into the kindle. This book takes you through every single emotion that come to the end you are an emotional wreck (but in a good way)

The relationship between Bizzy and the brothers was so heart-warming to read and see develop over the decade they have been together. Then when Shaw and Bizzy become lovers then WOW it was off the scale intense, super-hot and passionate. These two were scorching between the sheets (and any other surface they…ahem…came across)

I will give fair warning that midway through I didn’t know whether to hug my kindle or throw it at the wall. I got so angry and involved in the storyline. In fact I had to stop and take a breather. Yes it was that kind of a book – one you don’t want to put down but in the same breath you hate a character with a passion.

However when we got to the ending (yes it was a HEA) I was able to look back and forgive the author for putting me through so much angst and stress. The ending was worth waiting for and re-established my love for Shaw Bennett. Happy days! Four and a half stars.
