Title: Duke of Manhattan
Author: Louise Bay
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: 16 May 2017
I was born into British aristocracy, but I’ve made my fortune in Manhattan. New York is now my kingdom.
Back in Britain my family are fighting over who’s the next Duke of Fairfax. The rules say it’s me--if I’m married. It’s not a trade-off worth making. I could never limit myself to just one woman.
Or so I thought until my world is turned upside down. Now, the only way I can save the empire I built is to inherit the title I’ve never wanted -- so I need a wife.
To take my mind off business I need a night that’s all pleasure. I need to bury myself in a stranger.
The skim of Scarlett King’s hair over my body as she bends over . . .
The scrape of her nails across my chest as she screams my name . . .
The bite of her teeth on my shoulder just as we both reach the edge . . .
It all helps me forget.
I just didn’t bargain on finding my one night stand across the boardroom table the next day.
She might be my latest conquest but I have a feeling Scarlett King might just conquer me.
A sexy, standalone romance.

The Duke of Manhattan is another winning read from Louise
Bay.
Scarlett King is trying to start her life again after a
divorce she did not see coming. Content in her marriage to her childhood sweet heart
she is therefore devastated when he called her boring and so set in her ways,
that she never took a risk. After a staid career in finance since she
qualified, she was out to prove her ex wrong. She started up a Fragrance
company with her best friend. However as with all new companies they have
reached a block in the road of progress and are searching for investors to bail
them out of a bind. Feeling the need to escape her woes for a night she meets
up with her much more daring sister, who challenges her to pick up a one night
stand. After being goaded, Scarlett decides in a split second she is going to
do it. When she catches the eye of the hottie at the bar it’s all systems go as
the attraction between them is sizzling.
Ryder Westbury is the next in line to the family seat as
Duke. However his nasty cousin also has the eye on the main event and being
that he is already married his chances are high. However Ryder being the oldest
is the first choice if he becomes a married man before his beloved Grandfather’s
demise. Not one to dwell on losing his surrogate father, he has put off making
any changes to his life. Being that as a confirmed bachelor, he is happy with his
regular one night stands and hook ups. He has no need for a woman in his life
but then when his Grandfather reveals a clause in the will could bring down his
company he has worked so hard to build in Manhattan, it throws everything into
a spin. Going straight to the bar as he steps off the plane from England, he is
distracted by the chat up lines that the gorgeous woman in front of him is
laying on him. Never one to withdraw from a chance of a hot night between the
sheets, Ryder accepts the woman’s offer. However things look so much different
the next day as he enters the meeting room of a company he is looking to invest
in, only to come face to face again with the sexy woman of the night before.
The story then unravels as the two waring strangers become so much more after a
slightly different deal than they’d each envisioned is struck.
This was one heck of a storyline that had me engrossed from
the beginning. Ryder and Scarlett were each looking for something but until
they start to understand each other and what they slowly start to mean to each
other made for a heart pounding read. These two were scorching hot together and
the dialogue between them was intense and enticing. The romance element just
had me swooning into my kindle, I adored this pairing. Absolute bliss. As for
the secondary characters, they were equally endearing, especially Ryder’s
grandfather and sister. The evil cousin and his wife were glorious in their
deviousness. It was also good to catch up with Scarlett’s hot brother Max King
(King of Wall Street) and Harper who make a cameo appearance.
I could go on and on and wax lyrical about how much I loved
this book but I’ve already given too much away but not all the best bits. For
those you must read this book or miss out on the fabulous story that it is.
Five amazing stars.
