Title: The Spencer Cohen Series, Book 1
Series: The Spencer Cohen
Author: N.R. Walker
Genre: M/M Contemporary
Spencer Cohen is the guy who gets answers to relationship questions. Playing the role of the new lover, his job is to make his client’s ex realise one of two things: he doesn’t want to break up or he really does. Either way, his client gets answers.
The ex would either apologize and beg, or turn and walk. But in the end, Spencer’s client won. If he wanted his ex back and got him, it was great. If the guy walked away, then as hard it was for the client, he knew it was over. Regardless of the outcome, Spencer’s work was done.
Andrew Landon’s ex left him without so much as an explanation. But his sister can’t stand to see him miserable, so, much to Andrew’s dismay, they hire Spencer to be Andrew’s new boyfriend to get the ex back.
For Spencer, it is never personal. Merely a business transaction. No emotions, no strings, no complications.
Even a blind man could see how this would end.
I love books where opposites attract and here we have Spencer, tattooed sleeves, beard, loves vinyl records, Moroccan food but he doesn’t care much about feelings. An Aussie in the US, he is cooler than cool. On the other hand we have Andrew who loves feelings but they often get trampled. He plays the piano and is an artist. He is the ultimate nice guy.
When Andrew gets dumped by his boyfriend, his sister steps in and hires Spencer to act as Andrew’s new boyfriend to make the old one jealous. Oh yes this is Spencer’s business – he gets hired to play act at being a boyfriend. It’s worked for him in the past but after a couple of meetings with Andrew he finds it harder and harder to suppress the feelings and the effect this man is having on him. He doesn’t do relationships or love so what is happening here?
I absolutely FLOVED this book! From the start I instantly fell for both these guys and was routing for them to get it on. But the author was a tease and kept the chemistry building and the relationship development at a ‘will they, won’t they?’ and ‘can they, yes say!’ throughout. I like it when a friendship builds and builds into something neither MC were looking for at the onset. The reader was kept holding in anticipation for the sexfest that was bound to happen wasn’t it? My lips are sealed but let me just say by the end of the book I was yearning for more. Cannot wait (big hint NR Walker!) for the next wonderful instalment of this story. Please? Well worthy of my five FLOVED stars.

N.R. Walker is an Australian author, who loves her genre of gay romance.
She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn’t have it any other way.
She is many things: a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don’t let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.
She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things… but likes it even more when they fall in love.
She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.
She’s been writing ever since…
