SYNOPSIS
“In its purest form love is self-sacrificing, eternal, selfless, enduring, truthful, forgiving and indulgent. It also feels an awful lot like a kick to the stomach when you try to fight it!

All Everleigh Carsen wanted to do was complete her final semester at Hensley University and begin the life she carefully planned.
When a wave of violent crime seizes campus, Everleigh is persuaded to attend a school sponsored self-defense seminar by her best friend, where she meets volunteer instructor, Hunter Charles. After Everleigh’s biting sarcasm induces Hunter to eject her from class, a tempestuous relationship is born.
Everleigh is determined to forget the striking man, but fate–that fickle shrew–continuously intervenes. Unable to escape him, she declares Hunter an enemy combatant. The only complication… Hunter is resolutely pursuing vindication…by any means necessary. Verbal warfare ensues, and despite Everleigh’s ingenious efforts, in Hunter, she has finally found her equal.
Only For You is a compelling tale of friendship, desire, and redemption--brimming with intelligent characters, witty dialogue, unexpected twists, profound sorrow, unfettered hope, and love’s unassailable perseverance.
Note:  Although this is series, each novel can be read as a stand alone.

REVIEW
My Rating = 5 Stars++++++

I absolutely loved this book! I don’t actually think the cover or the blurb does this book justice as I was thinking it would be a run of the mill new adult romance but how wrong, totally wrong to judge this book by its cover. It was amazing and such a clever storyline with fantastic characters, an emotive love story with a twist of mystery and murder intertwined to create this fabulous read.

Everleigh is everything I love in a female lead – she is totally in control of her life, takes no crap and delivers the most fantastic one liner put downs to any jerk that tries to intimidate her. Her BFF/roommate/sister from another mister – Sam, is also of the same mould. So it was refreshing and so freaking hilarious in parts to read their banter and interaction with each other.

Everleigh had known Sam for most of her life and they both had become the family for each other after Everleigh’s Mum died who had provided the loving and cherishing role to both due to Sam’s over rich and under caring parents. They both now attended the same university which of late had become the focus of a serial attacker to the females on campus. The police and university were pulling out all the stops to protect their students and a self-defence course had been provided. Sam persuades (makes!) Everleigh attend and it is here we meet Hunter, the hot, rippling, ball busting, and love button tingling specimen of an alpha-MAN!

Hunter is the instructor for this class and when he and Ev meet it sets pace for a dynamic and enticing dance. They antagonise each other at first, each trying to get one upmanship on each other but this soon leads to a mutual respect for each other. But Hunter is not looking for a relationship and wants to remain as best friends but little do we know what Hunter may be hiding that stops him being able to have a relationship with Ev.

I loved the closeness displayed by Hunter with Ev, he always looked out for her, shared many happy moments with her and always said he would never lie to her, which he never did but she could never get to why he would not commit. I did find this frustrating but, oh dear reader, just hang on in there and go with the flow because the outcome after the mystery is revealed was an outstanding curveball I just did not see coming! Oh and the tattoo – the TATTOO – was inspired!

This book has everything and every emotion covered from the onset. There were parts my heart was in my mouth with shock, parts I could not stop sighing with pleasure and parts that had me laughing my ass off. It has an amazing love story, a fantastic mystery twist and a beautiful display of friendships. The layers of this book gave enormous depth and a wealth of feeling within each page. I loved that each chapter started with famous quotes that related to the subject matter.

The music choices were an added bonus and one song that is featured is Open Arms which is one of my all-time favourites which Kristen Ashley (another kick ass author) introduced me to. So imagine my wonderment when reading the author’s influences and support from other authors included KA.

Ms Rulon has created an amazing start to a series and I for one shall be investing in the next books plus adding her name to my ‘You have to read this’ list.  Brilliant. You need to read this!
